STEPS TO CUT AND SEW MANUFACTURING THROUGH OUR INCUBATOR

If you are a new fashion brand or fashion designer get started here:

We are a fashion incubator that offers design development (tech packs), prototypes (samples), and no-minimum manufacturing so that emerging, small brands can get started without having the obstacle of large minimum quantities at big factories overseas.  But to be able to do this means that we require the brand owner/designer to be a part of the process and engage in some education so that they can oversee the process since most small brands don’t have the funds to meet big minimums and/or hire a Production Manager to over see the process for them or a QC person to make sure the process is going smoothly.  Our system is set up to give you the opportunity to learn the steps and become your own Production Manager and QC person initially so you can make small quantities and avoid big minimums at overseas factories.  Just follow our steps below.

We can also produce samples and sew small quantities for you if you already have a tech pack and totally understand the manufacturing process. All you need to do is send us your tech pack that includes technical flats, measurement specs, detailed fabric and trim sourcing information, grading/marking tickets, cutting tickets, send out sheets, and sewing contracts. If you have all of that figured out you can skip the steps below.

STEP 1:

TOUR F.A.B.R.I.C.

Book a tour of F.A.B.R.I.C to learn how it works and what you can do here. Click HERE

STEP 2:

CONSULTATION ON CUT AND SEW MANUFACTURING

Read this ARTICLE and then book a Design Development and Manufacturing Private Consultation HERE before you attempt to manufacture a sewn product. You'll learn the process your product will need to go through, what you'll need to be responsible for, what tech packs are, how to create tech packs, how to cost your product, sourcing, sales, and more.

STEP 3:

START DESIGNING

You'll need flats, specs, and materials before you can even start prototyping/sampling. You'll learn about them in the Step 2 Consultation and can do them yourself or you can hire us to help you, do it for you, or teach you how to do it yourself in more depth.

THESE ARE YOUR STEP 3 OPTIONS....
-----LEARN TO DO IT YOURSELF

Most popular and most cost effective....for the entrepreneur without a six figure investment.

Let us teach you how to do the easier things yourself that you should know how to do as the design entrepreneur anyways.

Schedule and pay for these three important one-on-one lessons in...

1) DRAWING TECHNICAL FLATS:

(Yes you can draw....we have tricks! And you need to design in flats in order to know if your product is even possible to make). Click HERE  and then schedule a FLAT SKETCHING located under the ONE-ON-ONE LESSONS category.

2) SPECS

Properly measuring/specing a garment. Click HERE and schedule a SPEC A GARMENT lesson under the ONE-ON-ONE LESSONS category..

3) FABRICS

Understand textiles and sourcing. Click HERE and schedule an UNDERSTANDING TEXTILES lesson under the ONE-ON-ONE LESSONS category.

-----HIRE US TO DO SPECIFIC PARTS OF IT FOR YOU

After the Design Development and Manufacturing consultation you understand most if it, but would like to hire an expert to draw your technical flat or do your spec sheets for you. You can hire us to do any of the steps for you but you'll still need to invest time in meeting with us because we'll still need your input on measurements, colors, fabrics, seam locations, preferred seam types, etc....

Click HERE to hire someone to sketch your working flats (first/rough flats) by hand by selecting TECHNICAL FLATS under the FOR EMERGING BRANDS category.

Click HERE to hire someone to spec your garment for you by selecting the MEASUREMENT SPECS option from under the FOR EMERGING BRANDS category.. Specs are done before a sample is created, after each sample is made and during the manufacturing process to check for accuracy.

Click HERE and select TECH PACKS under the FOR EMERGING BRANDS category to hire someone to fill in your color ways, cutting tickets, grading/marking tickets, sewing contracts, and other tech pack documents.

Click HERE to hire a pattern maker, pattern grader, marker maker, production cutting and production sewing. *Tech packs are required before this step.

-----DO IT YOURSELF BUT NEED HELP ALONG THE WAY

After the Design Development and Manufacturing consultation, you'understand most of it and want to do it yourself, but got stumped and just need to ask an expert a few questions. Click HERE and then schedule TECH PACKS from the FOR EMERGING BRANDS category to pay for and schedule your session. Please indicate in the notes upon check out what you are hoping to get help with.

-----HIRE US TO DO IT ALL

For the entrepreneur that has a significant investment/investor and wants the least amount of involvement.

Don't have time to do it yourself and you have a significant investment/investor to fund hiring a production manager? You can contract a production manager to manage the process for you. Please note: there is no way to know how much this will ultimately cost because every product and the process it goes through is different. You'll be paying a contractor by the hour. Plus you'll still need to be very hands on and available to provide all details needed for the tech pack because it is your design and you are the ultimate decision maker. The production manager will just input your decisions into the tech pack documents for you and keep the product moving through the process.. Send us an email for more info on "Pre-Production Project Management".
